Hydrologic and Floodplain Modeling

Displaying technical Hydrologic data is where 3D Computer Modeling plays an important role in allowing anyone to view and immediately understand FEMA floodplain limits, HEC1 and HEC2 analysis water surface elevations or any Hydrologic water surface and terrain analysis.

Courtroom/Expert Witness graphics created by 3D Computer Modeling of technical engineering analysis has helped our clients by making complicated analysis easy to view and understand.

Shown at left is a computer model showing the water surface during flood conditions. The model has been overlaid with USGS topographic mapping which adds important details such as roads and contours. A virtual fly-over is then created allowing the viewer to easily interpret hyrologic study results.

Any type of imagery, such as aerial photography, topographic maps and engineering plans, can be overlaid onto a digital terrain model and viewed in 3D.

Hydrologic and Floodplain Modeling using 3D Computer Modeling is remarkably cost effective with the experience Kutscher Consulting and our powerful modeling systems brings to our clients.

Viewing the conventional results of Hydrologic Analysis can be difficult and is usually cumbersome and time consuming for a trained Water Resources engineer.

Water surface contours, aerial imagery, CAD or GIS information can be overlaid or "draped" on top of the digital terrain model to add even more detailed information to the 3D views. In addition, annotations and additional graphics can easily be added in order to provide exactly the information you need to communicate to your audience.
